A last minute SOLO trip over a holiday weekend, what could go wrong? On the Wednesday before Thanksgiving I decided to fly standby to Paris. There were plenty of seats to get there and back..
I flew out on Friday from Atlanta & was lucky to get Comfort+ for the 8 hour flight. I landed at 6am in Paris & managed to get myself out of the airport, into an Uber & to my hotel. When I travel I usually look for the cheapest hotel with the best ratings in a safe area. This trip I decide to splurge a little and make sure to have a view of the Eiffel Tower from my room. It did not disappoint!

I couldn’t check into my room yet, so I got an espresso and croissant, left my bag at the hotel and went exploring. On my list to see was the Louvre, Mona Lisa, Arc de Triomphe (that Lauren sees in The Hills when she FINALLY goes to Paris) and some delicious food.
I had bought tickets on the flight over to see Mona Lisa so I made my way in that direction taking in the scenery & how quite it was out. When in new countries I always get a white Monster Ultra, it’s become some sort of tradition now.

I had my tickets for 9am to go into the Louvre. Seeing all of the statues and paintings was something you to do when in Paris. Seeing the Mona Lisa in the live was something I didn’t think I would get to do. The museum can take anywhere from 2 hours to 4 hours to see everything. They have a very cafe and gift shop before entering the main part.

Once leave the museum, I started waking around and exploring what Paris had to offer, but first I was able to check in to my hotel. So I headed back that way to check in and put on more warm clothes! My hotel room was amazing, it was such a cute little boutique hotel. I had a room with a balcony facing the EIFFEL TOWER!

After I dropped after my bag in my room, I began to explore again. There is SO much to see in Paris. I was beginning to get hungry so I dropped into McDonald’s (I know so American), but it was so good & I got to try some macrons.
I knew I wanted to be back in my hotel room before dark. So I made my way to the Eiffel Tower, seeing this massive structure in person is really breathtaking. I explored

Sunday morning I wake up & get an Uber to the airport. Now remind you this is Thanksgiving weekend, let’s just say I didn’t know fly back to USA on Sunday. All the flights were full and over full. I tried 4 differs flights to get on and each time I need to be listed for a new flight I had to call my brother to do it ( Oh the joys of a 6 hour time difference). After the last flight left for the day I booked the airport hotel for the night, got some food and got my stuff ready for the next day. I was first trying to get on 8:55am flight to ATL, that did not work. Then I tried 10:10am to MSP, again a full flight. Finally I listed for 10:30am to DTW and got on with Premium Select! I was so excited just to have a seat and be heading back to USA. Once landing in DTW, I had a choice to fly directly to TPA or fly to ATL then SRQ.
I chose the quicker route to get me home sooner! I still can’t believe that just 12 hours ago I was in Paris, France! Definitely on my list to go back and explore more of it!
Stay tuned for my next adventure London!
